Classic French Recipes

Food glorious food! Some classic French recipes.

Seasonal fresh produce

Over the years I have found so many delicious French inspired recipes, many of which are regularly tried, trusted and enjoyed by us and friends whether we are in France or in the UK.

We love to visit the local French markets and and artisan producers to get the freshest and most flavoursome ingredients.

Visiting the local chateaux for tastings, to buy excellently produced wines by the case, is such a  privilege and the real bonus is that buying everything locally is a great way to support the small farming and artisan community as well as reducing the carbon footprint of our weekly food and drink consumption.

Food and drink is at the heart of French life, from the daily morning pilgrimage to the local bakery, a light lunch of market roasted French chicken with salad, the regular evening apéro get together with friends or a celebratory dinner with family, the choices and combinations of delicious food and drink are endless!

The range of produce never ceases to amaze us and it is so reassuring to know that we are eating in sync with the seasons!

Scroll on down and you may find a few recipes or ideas that inspire you! I’ve also thrown in a few of my English favourites too.

You may want to read my blog about the best pizza I have ever had…cooked for me by a neighbour in his woodfired oven in the middle of the vineyards!
